Green Power and CLP Power Hong Kong Limited co-organized the "Liquefied Natural Gas•New Direction for Energy" Logo Design Competition in October, 2006. Through the exercise of designing logos, the competition aims to encourage students and the public to learn more about LNG and to enhance their awareness of environmental protection.

With the theme of "LNG and air quality", the competition is categorized into three categories, including Primary School, Secondary School and Open category. Positive feedback has been received with almost 1,900 submissions. Ten submissions were short-listed from each category for the final selection, in which the Champion, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up and two Merit awards for each category were selected by the Judging Panel. At the same time, the ten short-listed submissions from each category were also uploaded to Green Power's website for online polling by the public. More than 46,000 votes were cast. In recognition of their dedicated support, the participating schools with the largest number of submissions from the Primary School and Secondary School category have been awarded the "Participation Award".

At the award presentation ceremony, which was held on 15  December, the winners of all categories were presented with awards. They also took the opportunity to share the concept ideas and the inspiration of their designs.

Officiating guests of the ceremony included Ir Edmund Leung Kwong-ho, JP, Chairman, Energy Advisory Committee, Mr Pang Sik Wing, Principal Environmental Protection Officer (Air Policy), Environmental Protection Department, Ms Winifred Wong, Public Affairs Manager, CLP Power, and Dr Man Chi Sum, Chief Executive Officer, Green Power.
