Coastal Clean Up Team

Popular beaches and nearby coastlines are clean and beautiful, because of the government’s efforts to keep them clean. However, there are many non-gazetted beaches in Hong Kong which are often strewn with garbage. Not only is this visually unpleasant but it also affects marine life. Garbage will drift with the tide back into the sea, where marine creatures may suffocate by mistakenly swallowing plastic bags and styrofoam.

We gather primary school students to regularly clean the coastlines and to protect the natural environment through taking action while allowing them to learn about the coastal habitat at the same time, emphasising on both education and practice.

More Upcoming Coastal Clean Up Events will be held, to receive the latest information you may
