Butterfly Gardens


We build butterfly gardens in different communities, so that everyone can watch butterflies. This is one of the important components of our work on promoting butterfly watching. In addition to butterfly watching, we have set up signs with information on butterflies in some butterfly gardens to encourage people to learn more about butterfly ecology. For some gardens with special facilities (e.g. camp sites and schools), we also provide training to staff, teachers and students, to better equip them for promoting educational butterfly activities.

As of today, we have built 31 butterfly gardens in:

  • Public housing estates:
    Tin Ching Estate, Tin Yiu Estate, Hing Wah (II) Estate, Kam Peng Estate, Yiu Tung Estate, Yat Tung (II) Estate, Sau Mau Ping Estate, Ngan Wan Estate, Un Chau Estate, Lok Fu Estate, Hing Tung Estate, Tin Wan Estate, Sheung Tak Estate, Cheung Hang Estate, Cheung Ching Estate
