As part of the "Green Delight in Estates" Programme, a territory-wide plastic bag reduction activity – 930 Estate No Plastic Bag Day – will be organised for public housing estates on 30 September 2009, to encourage estate residents to adopt green lifestyles and use less plastic bags. Residents supporting "930 Estate No Plastic Bag Day" may win a free trip to Noah's Ark.

As a result of our deep-rooted culture of extensive plastic bag use, our landfill sites receive more than 80 hundred million plastic bags each year. Landfill sites are rapidly becoming saturated; every time we use a plastic bag, we are exploiting our precious natural resources and limited land.

Reduce – Bring Your Own Bag
Bring your own bag and make your shopping more convenient.
Say "NO" to a plastic bag whenever you buy a newspaper.
Use at most one plastic bag for every purchase of bakery; don't use multiple bags.
 
Reuse – Wise Use of Your Bag
Well-folded plastic bags relieve storage problems.
Wrapping unused appliances such as electric fans, televisions and computer monitors with plastic bags keeps them dust-free.
Packing gifts in colourful plastic bags can make them attractive.
 
Recycle – Categorize Your Waste
Put unusable plastic bags into brown recycling bins to facilitate recycling.
